Dr. Phillip Reemtsma grew up in Algona, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University where he majored in Animal Science. Phil graduated in May of 1998 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation he moved to DeWitt , where he worked at the DeWitt Veterinary Clinic. He purchased the practice in August of 1998. Phil's focus is on beef cattle including feedlot consulting and embryo transfer. Phil is married and has two boys. In his spare time he enjoys helping his boys with their 4-H pigs and cattle, watching sports, and managing his cow herd. |
Dr. John Glispie grew up in Le Claire, Iowa and took classes in Animal Science at Iowa State University until he was admitted to the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his DVM in 1996. Following graduation, he practiced companion animal medicine in Virginia and Maryland before returning to the Midwest to work in Wisconsin. John joined the De Witt Veterinary Clinic in October of 2012. Working exclusively with companion animals, his interests include surgery, dentistry and some orthopedic procedures, such as cruciate ligament stabilization. In his free time, John enjoys camping, paintball, renaissance fairs and spending time with his daughter. |
We would like to welcome Dr. Ashley Wegmann to the DeWitt Vet Clinic. She will be specializing in equine care, along with large & small animal services.
Ashley is originally from Edgewood, IA. She attended Iowa State University where she majored in Animal Science. She graduated from Iowa State with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2018. Following graduation, she practiced companion animal medicine in Davenport, IA. She then joined our clinic at the beginning of 2019. She enjoys working with large and small animals with a large interest in equine. Ashley lives outside of Welton, where she spends her spare time raising and working with her Belgian Draft horses. When she is not working, she is showing a six-horse hitch with her boyfriend, friends & family. She has two cats, two dogs and many horses. She also enjoys trail riding and show jumping.

Dr. Riley Jones grew up in Mooresville, NC and attended Clemson University in South Carolina where she majored in Animal Science. She graduated from NC State where she received her DVM in 2022. Following graduation, she joined the clinic in June. She enjoys working with large animals, especially with cow calf herds. Riley enjoys spending time outdoors with her 3 year old black Labrador, Gary, riding horses, and cheering on the Clemson Tigers

Dr. Michelle Hohrman grew up on a small farm just outside of Northfield, MN. She attended the University of Minnesota-Morris where she received her Bachelor Degree in Biology. She graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with her DVM in May 2022. Following graduation she joined the clinic in June 2022. Dr. Michelle enjoys working with both small and large animals, especially cattle and small ruminants. She currently has one sassy cat named Stella. Outside of work Michelle enjoys baking, watching movies, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. |
Tara joined DeWitt Veterinary Clinic in January of 2010 after working in the Quad Cities for 8 years. After graduating Maquoketa High School, she earned her degree in Animal Science and Veterinary Assisting at Kirkwood Community College in the summer of 2003. She is married with 3 kids. She also has a Boston Terrier-Wilma, a cat-Gary & a ferret-Ollie. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her kids, family and friends. She also enjoys going to Iowa Hawkeye games in the fall and boating in the summer. |
Ellen graduated from Northeast High School in 2009. She joined the DVC crew in January 2013 and does a little bit of everything at the clinic. Ellen has a son; 3 huskys – Blaze, Zeus, and Zo. You can be sure to find Ellen outside in her free time – kayaking, tubing, or sitting around a campfire – anything to spend time with her friends and family. She also enjoys taking landscape photographs from time to time.

Brena graduated from Preston High School in 2010. She attended The University of Wisconsin-Platteville and graduated in 2015 with a degree in Animal Science and a minor in Biology. Brena joined the team in November 2016 and is our IVF tech. She can be found either out in the IVF building or on the farm helping one of the vets out. Brena is married with 1 son and has a dog - Willow. She spends her free time attending cattle shows, going on trail rides, and being around friends and family.

Heather graduated from Clinton High School in 2008. She joined the DVC crew in January 2019 and will be the one answering the phone most of the time when you call. Heather is married with 2 sons; 2 dogs – Skylar and Cooper; many cats, ducks, and chickens. Her boys keep her busy most of the time, but she also enjoys crafting, being on the water, camping, and gardening.

Jamie joined the DVC in May of 2024. She is a graduated from Clinton High School in 2017. Her love for animals started at a young age, she even volunteered at her local humane society when she was in elementary school. She is married, with a daughter. She has 2 cats-Ollie and Nala, a dog-Milo and 3 chickens-Millie, Smokey and Pepper. In her free time she likes to spend time outside playing with her daughter. She also enjoys camping, boating and spending time with family.

Emma graduated from DeWitt High School in 2020. She joined the DVC Jan of 2024. She recently graduated from Iowa State University with her Bachelor of Animal Science degree. She is looking forward to continuing her education and one day becoming a doctor of veterinary medicine. Emma will soon be found gaining hands-on experience through on-farm and IVF appointments. Emma has 1 very sweet, quirky, and friendly German Shepherd dog named Oakley. She grew up raising and showing beef cattle, both of which she continues to do today. Emma enjoys spending most of her free time with friends and family, and working on her show calves. |
Elaina graduated high school in 2019 and joined the DVC in October of 2024 to pursue her love of working with animals.
Elaina has been around animals her whole life growing up with horses, cats and dogs, Elaina and her boyfriend have three dogs of their own, Millie, CeCe and Rosie. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, as well as cooking, baking, playing the drums or her guitar around a campfire with her friends and family. |
