DeWitt Veterinary Clinic has been providing quality veterinary care to the families of DeWitt and the surrounding area for many years. Our experienced team of veterinarians and support staff is dedicated to delivering the best and most comprehensive veterinary care available for your pet.

Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Phillip Reemtsma
Veterinarian
Dr. Phillip Reemtsma grew up in Algona, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University where he majored in Animal Science. Phil graduated in May of 1998 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation he moved to DeWitt, where he worked at the DeWitt Veterinary Clinic. He purchased the practice in August of 1998. Phil's focus is on beef cattle including feedlot consulting and embryo transfer.
Phil is married and has two boys. In his spare time he enjoys helping his boys with their 4-H pigs and cattle, watching sports, and managing his cow herd.
Dr. John Glispie
Veterinarian
Dr. John Glispie grew up in Le Claire, Iowa and took classes in Animal Science at Iowa State University until he was admitted to the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his DVM in 1996. Following graduation, he practiced companion animal medicine in Virginia and Maryland before returning to the Midwest to work in Wisconsin. John joined the DeWitt Veterinary Clinic in October of 2012.
Working exclusively with companion animals, his interests include surgery, dentistry and some orthopedic procedures, such as cruciate ligament stabilization. In his free time, John enjoys camping, paintball, renaissance fairs and spending time with his daughter.
Dr. Michelle Hohrman
Veterinarian
Dr. Michelle Hohrman grew up on a small farm just outside of Northfield, MN. She attended the University of Minnesota-Morris where she received her Bachelor Degree in Biology. She graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with her DVM in May 2022. Following graduation she joined the clinic in June 2022.
Dr. Michelle enjoys working with both small and large animals, especially cattle and small ruminants. She currently has one sassy cat named Stella. Outside of work Michelle enjoys baking, watching movies, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Meet Our Staff
Tara Hansen
Certified Veterinary Assistant
Tara joined DeWitt Veterinary Clinic in January of 2010 after working in the Quad Cities for 8 years. After graduating from Maquoketa High School, she earned her degree in Animal Science and Veterinary Assisting at Kirkwood Community College in the summer of 2003. She is married with 3 kids and also has a Boston Terrier named Wilma.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her kids, family, and friends. She also enjoys boating in the summer.
Ellen Farwell
Office Manager
Ellen graduated from Northeast High School in 2009. She joined the DVC crew in January 2013 and does a little bit of everything at the clinic.
Ellen has a son and 3 huskies — Blaze, Zeus, and Zo. You can be sure to find Ellen outside in her free time — kayaking, tubing, or sitting around a campfire — anything to spend time with her friends and family. She also enjoys taking landscape photographs from time to time.
Brena Smith
IVF Technician
Brena graduated from Preston High School in 2010. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and graduated in 2015 with a degree in Animal Science and a minor in Biology. Brena joined the team in November 2016 and is our IVF tech. She can be found either out in the IVF building or on the farm helping one of the vets out.
Brena is married with 2 sons and has a dog named Willow. She spends her free time attending cattle shows, going on trail rides, and being around friends and family.
Heather Eggers
Receptionist / Assistant
Heather graduated from Clinton High School in 2008. She joined the DVC crew in January 2019.
Heather is married with 2 sons, 2 dogs — Skylar and Coal — and many cats, ducks, and chickens. Her boys keep her busy most of the time, but she also enjoys crafting, being on the water, camping, and gardening.
Eliana Yoerger
Receptionist
Eliana graduated high school in 2019 and joined the DVC in October of 2024 to pursue her love of working with animals. She has been around animals her whole life, growing up with horses, cats, and dogs. Eliana and her boyfriend have three dogs of their own — Millie, CeCe, and Rosie.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, as well as cooking, baking, playing the drums, or her guitar around a campfire with friends and family.

Our modern clinic is equipped to handle the full spectrum of veterinary care, from routine wellness exams and vaccinations to surgery, dental care, diagnostic imaging, laser therapy, and advanced reproductive services.
